Frequently Asked Question

What devices and iOS versions does MovieSlate® support?
MovieSlate officially supports iPhone 4 and later, iPod touch (4th & 5th generation), and iPad 2, 3, 4, iPad Air, Air 2, iPad mini 2 and mini 3. MovieSlate runs on iOS 6 and 7. Some current or future MovieSlate features may only be available on iOS 7. For the best experience, we strongly recommend running MovieSlate on the latest devices.
If you have an older device or iOS version, the App Store and/or MovieSlate may refuse to install/upgrade or launch. As with all App Store upgrades, it is highly recommended that you perform a backup with iTunes before you upgrade. This not only preserves your data but may allow you to revert back to the previously installed version of an app.
If you find that your device isn't on the list of supported devices/iOS versions, please realize that we work hard to make sure that MovieSlate runs efficiently on as many devices as we can. But as we add new features we sometimes come to the point where we've got to let our users know that acceptable performance can no longer be achieved on legacy iOS devices (which Apple no longer manufactures). And in some cases features that can only be enabled by modern versions of the iOS become integral to the way the app functions.
We've installed and run MovieSlate on older devices and while it initially runs fine, the performance deteriorates quickly. As more and more data accumulates it becomes a less than desirable experience as you wait for data to load or shots to start. In some larger-data cases the app can launch so slowly that Apple's "watchdog" process will force-quit the app during the launch phase. |
